Counseling Services

Mental health counseling for individuals, couples and families struggling with disfunction as a result of depression, anxiety, personal trauma, mood disorder, psychosis, gender-related concerns, and/or other issues surrounding identity. I use a Person-centered approach using evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavioral (DBT), emotion-focused (EFT), and solution-focused modalities .

Counseling services begin with an intake session in which general background information is obtained along with reasons for seeking counseling. Therapist will collaborate with client to start defining treatment goals, which are generally finalized during second session. Although I do not currently bill insurance, it is still customery to assign a diagnosis based on information presented. While a diagnosis may serve as a guide for understanding symptoms and for treatment, we will be working on treating symptoms as they pertain to your unique circumstances.  Generally speaking, I recommend that anyone starting counseling plan to attend sessions once per week or once every 2 weeks in the beginning, phasing out as appropriate.

I am currently able to take the following insurances: Cigna, UnitedHealthCare, Oxford Health Plans, Aetna, UMR, Oscar, UHC Student Resources (primary insurance only; no AHCCCS plans).I also offer a private pay option at $100/session.
